This Barro Rojo Bowl is made by Mexican Artisans living in the Oaxacan highlands of Mexico. The red clay is gathered from the surrounding hills. The pottery is burnished using a stone and brush to give it a smooth unglazed finish. These Traditional Mexican Pozolero bowls are made of earthenware or "clay" or in Spanish "barro". The bowls maybe glazed inside or out (or both) then fired over low heat. The results are earthy, stunning and a pleasure to use. These Bowls are made of 100% Lead free Clay.
